Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County Exploring Services to Youth of Denton County

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County (BGCGTC) is conducting feasibility and exploration activities to determine youth development programming needs of the Denton County community, including the types and locations. Currently, Denton County is the largest county in the United States without a Boys & Girls Club. Project Partners will work along-side BGCGTC leadership, Mobile Clubhouse staff, and Denton County allies to coordinate logistics for multiple meetings and to facilitate community conversations with key stakeholders such as potential service partners, families, and board members. We’ll also submit a summary report of this community input which will further inform the process.

Water From The Rock Receives ToolBox Grant for Strategic Planning Services

Water From The Rock (WFTR) has been serving individuals and families experiencing poverty in central and east Arlington since 1999. Programs have included food distribution, adult literacy training (GED and ESL), computer classes, and Success Connections (a clothing distribution program to outfit participants for job interviews). However, program participation has dipped significantly, even though there is evidence to suggest a critical need for their services in the community. WFTR has received a ToolBox grant from the North Texas Community Foundation for strategic planning services to help determine the most effective way forward.
